The meeting was called to order at 10:10 am by Chairperson Keith Forsgren.

Introduction of board and guests.

Agenda:

Add under curriculum – requests for approval for in service training topics.

Public Comment:

None

Approval of Meeting Minutes:

The minutes of the February 25th, 2009 meeting were presented for consideration.

Motion by Ann Russell, seconded by Jon Campbell to;  “approve the minutes.”  Motion carried unanimously.

Discussion with representatives from the Michigan Attorney Generals Office.

Motion made by Patrick Melton “request the council meet with DSAM and resolve any outstanding issues”

seconded by Jon Campbell.  Discussion followed.

Amended motion: “request the Council meet with DSAM and the Attorney Generals Office and resolve any

outstanding issues.  In absence of that meeting, that the Council go to Judge Giddings.”  1 apposed, Motion

carried.

Committee Reports:

Hiring Standards Committee:

No update

Certification / Decertification:

Met prior to this meeting. 

Curriculum Committee:

Has not met. Requests for training; Mr. Reed will read any training approval requests he receives, to the

Advisory Board.

Academy Subcommittee:

Chris Mitchell is reviewing the RFP.

Old Business:

Mike Grodi passed out information on the Mcoles Information and Tracking Network (M.I.T.N.).  Discussion

followed.  Motion by Sheriff Koops “request from the Council to pursue a computerized record management

system.”  Seconded by Jon Campbell.  Motion carried unanimously. 

New Business:

Chairperson Keith Forsgren introduced two plaques for Sheriff Wrigglesworth and Ms. Floyd for their support in

allowing the Advisory Board to meet at this facility.  The plaques will be presented at the next Advisory Board

meeting, April 22, 2009.

Motion to “adjourn” by Jon Campbell seconded by Sheriff Koops.  Motion carried.  Meeting adjourned at 12:30 pm.
